Ceramic Engineering:



Ceramic engineers direct processes that convert clay, nonmetallic minerals, or silicates to ceramic products such as automobile parts, tiles on space shuttles, and solar panels.  Also included in this category is the development and production of glass, electronic coatings, abrasives, concrete, brick, and porcelain.  A Ceramic Engineer must have a fluent understanding of the principles of materials science as well as Chemical and Manufacturing Engineering concepts.
